Mr. Gaurav Grover has been investing in private and public equities for more than twenty-five years, with the last more than twenty years focused on Asian public equities based in Hong Kong. He began his career in New York in private equity at DLJ Merchant Banking and later joined Silver Lake, where he was part of the original founding team.
After Silver Lake, he moved to Hong Kong in 2004 to join TPG-Axon at the launch of the fund, where he managed portions of the Asia Equity Portfolio as well as the Global Technology Portfolio. Following TPG-Axon, Gaurav established and led Moore Capital’s Asia office in Hong Kong as a Senior Portfolio Manager, managing a pan-Asia focused Long/Short Equity Fund. After Moore, he founded and managed his own hedge fund, Trikon Asset Management, with day-one personal and/ or fund capital from all his prior employers-DLJ, Silver Lake, TPG and Moore. Gaurav wound down Trikon prior to joining Marshall Wace.
Marshall Wace is more than $80 billion multi-strategy alternative asset manager. Gaurav is Portfolio Manager of their AsiaGlobal business and a member of the Asian Management Committee. Gaurav holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from School of Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Gaurav is on the International Advisory Board for the Centre of Advanced Study of India at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Young Presidents Organization in Hong Kong and a Board member of Integrated Brilliant Education in Hong Kong.
In his spare time, Gaurav enjoys spending 0me with his two children as well as travelling, reading history, and watching comedies.
